The Holdovers
Da’Vine Joy Randolph will join Paul Giamatti in Alexander Payne’s next feature “The Holdovers” at Miramax. David Hemingson is writing and production is set to start today in New England.

The film follows a pompous and widely-disliked teacher (Giamatti) at a prestigious academy in 1970. He remains at school to supervise students unable to journey home over the Christmas break. Ultimately it’s just him, a trouble-making 15-year-old named Angus, and the school’s head cook Mary (Randolph). [Source: Deadline]

Violet Young has been cast as a series regular, playing the teenage version of Amy Schumer’s lead character, in the Hulu series “Life & Beth”.

Schumer plays Manhattan wine distributor Beth who is in a long-term relationship with an attractive, successful guy. When a sudden incident forces her to engage with her past, her life changes forever. Young will play Beth in flashbacks. [Source: Deadline]

Snowfall
Hulu has premiered a new trailer for the fifth season of the FX crime drama “Snowfall” which returns February 23rd. The new season begins in 1986 as Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) and his entire family are rich beyond their wildest dreams. When a basketball star suddenly dies, the rock cocaine epidemic becomes front-page news and law enforcement is on a warpath.
