Futurama
The “Futurama” revival, which marks the eighth season of the beloved animated comedy series, is reportedly set for a Summer 2023 release via Hulu. The revival was first ordered in February last year and will consist of twenty new episodes. The release window means it will arrive a full decade after the last season premiered in 2013. Angry Birds
SEGA is nearing a deal to acquire Rovio Entertainment, the company behind the “Angry Birds” game franchise, for around $1 billion. The deal could be done by as early as next week, assuming no delays.

Rovio was previously in talks to sell itself to Playtika Holding Corp. for more than $800 million, but the negotiations ended last month without a deal in place. [Source: The Wall Street Journal]

Van Helsing
Filmmaker Julius Avery (“Overlord,” “The Pope’s Exorcist”) confirms to Fangoria that the planned “Van Helsing” movie reboot announced three years ago is still in the works. He says he’s “currently writing and intend to direct myself with James [Wan] producing.” He re-affirms “that’s still in motion” but can’t go into any more detail.

God of War
A new study by Fandom, sampling 15,000 of the site’s 350 million monthly visitors, has revealed millennials (aged 27-42) are the biggest gamer demographic, with 52% identifying video games as their top recreational hobby.

Amusingly they also found Apple TV+ viewers way over indexed for being “God of War” fans. A “God of War” TV series is in development, but it’s at Amazon Prime. [Source: The Wrap]
