Furiosa
actress Anya Taylor-Joy indicates she will begin filming the “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa” in August. Taylor-Joy co-stars with Chris Hemsworth in the George Miller-directed film.

Talking with fellow acclaimed actor Josh O’Connor, he asked if she had started shooting to which she replied: “I’ve got a grace period until August, and then I will be working back-to-back until mid-2023.” [Source: Variety]

Sonic the Hedgehog 2
“SWAT” star Shemar Moore has joined the cast of the “Sonic the Hedgehog” sequel at Paramount Pictures, playing an apparent on-screen role alongside actors James Marsden and Tika Sumpter.

The film also boasts the return of Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. It opens on April 8th 2022. [Source: Instagram]

Armor Wars
Speaking at the Credit Suisse 23rd Annual Communications Conference, Disney CEO Bob Chapek was asked about a potential return of Iron Man.

Chapek made no mention of bringing the character back, but did tease the new “Armor Wars” series on Disney+ will be a treat for Tony Stark fans: “We’ve got a series called Armor Wars coming up starring Don Cheadle as War Machine. I think that will probably scratch the itch that our fans have for more Iron Man.” [Source: The Mix]

Untitled Spielberg Project
Julia Butters (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “The Gray Man”) will play a character inspired by Steven Spielberg’s sister in the filmmaker’s untitled semi-autobiographical film about his childhood.

She joins Michelle Williams and Paul Dano as his parents and Seth Rogen as his favorite uncle with newcomer Gabriel LaBelle as the character based on a young Spielberg. Filming begins this Summer for a 2022 release. [Source: Variety]
