James Gunn has clarified a rumor about the upcoming animated movie “Dynamic Duo,” confirming that the film is NOT being rewritten to be part of the DCU as had been rumored. Asked how the film is progressing, he says: “really, really well.” Swaybox uses ‘momo animation’ on the project, a combination of CGI animation, live-action real-time performance, and stop-motion. The Masque of the Red Death
Léa Seydoux (“No Time to Die,” “Dune: Part Two”) will join Mikey Madison in Charlie Polinger’s high-energy dark comedy take on the Edgar Allan Poe tale “The Masque of the Red Death” which will be set in medieval times. Cry Heaven
Filming has officially begun on Tom Ford’s “Cry Heaven,” his third feature following “A Single Man” and “Nocturnal Animals”. Benjamin Kracun (“The Substance”) is DOP on the ten-week shoot in Italy. The project is set in 18th-century Venice and follows a Venetian noble and a castrated singer trying to succeed in the opera world.

The Statement
Oscar-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy (“Spotlight,” “The Visitor”) has set “The Statement” at Sony Pictures Classics with filming to begin late February. McCarthy, Thomas Bidegan and Noé Debré penned the script based on Nathaniel Rich’s book “Losing Earth”.
Set at a beachside resort in Florida in 1980, twenty experts gather for a weekend conference on a global issue that is starting to gain traction: global warming.
