Dune: Part Two
“Elvis” star Austin Butler has confirmed that he has begun knife training for the role of the villain Feyd-Rautha in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” for Warner Bros. Pictures. Shooting on the project is expected to begin in July and run through much of the rest of the year ahead of an October 2023 release. [Source: The New York Times]

MUBI has acquired UK, Ireland and other territory rights for Lukas Dhont’s “Close” which will premiere at Cannes whilst A24 will take U.S. domestic rights. The film will be released theatrically followed by an exclusive MUBI streaming release.

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired rights to Sylvain Chomet’s new animated film “The Magnificent Life of Marcel Pagnol”. Set in 1955, the story follows prolific artist Marcel Pagnol who is commissioned to pen a weekly column about his childhood and realises his memory is failing him. [Source: Deadline]
