My Father’s Dragon
Netflix has released the first photo from the new film “My Father’s Dragon” by celebrated animation studio Cartoon Saloon (“Wolfwalkers,” “Song of the Sea”). Nora Twomey (“The Breadwinner”) directs from a script by Meg LeFauve (“Inside Out”).

An adaptation of Ruth Stiles Gannett’s book, the story follows a young boy who rescues a baby dragon, and the two strike up a friendship while facing mysteries and beasts. [Source: Netflix]

Devotion
The Korean War-set “Devotion,” led by Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell, has been locked down an October 2022 release date. Christina Jackson, Thomas Sadoski, Joe Jonas, Serinda Swan and Nick Hargrove also star.

The story follows two US Navy fighter pilots, from very different backgrounds, during the Korean War who became the country’s most celebrated wingmen. [Source: Collider]

Spin Me Round
IFC Films and AMC+ have acquired the rights to the SXSW fest comedy “Spin Me Round” starring Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Molly Shannon, Alessandro Nivola, Zach Woods, Lil Rel Howery, and Fred Armisen. Jeff Baena helms and co-wrote the script with Brie.

The story follows an ambitious Italian chain restaurant manager who wins a trip to Italy to attend the company’s ‘institute’ of sorts. Her experience ends up being closer to a nightmare than a dream. The plan is for a theatrical and VOD release this Summer. [Source: IFC Films]

Splatoon 3
Nintendo has confirmed that the third “Splatoon” game will be released on September 9th and premiered a new trailer for the title below. The clip shows off gameplay from some online 4-v-4 Turf War battles.
