The Last Voyage of the Demeter
“Battlestar Galactica,” “Black Sails,” “Outlander” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” composer Bear McCreary has announced he will score Andre Ovredal’s “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” film opening in August. Before
The Billy Crystal-led Apple TV+ limited series “Before” is pausing production until the WGA strike is over. Crystal plays Eli, a child psychiatrist who recently lost his wife when he encounters a troubled young boy.
The Paramount Television Studios production has been filming in New Jersey and is believed to have completed about five episodes. The show written by Sarah Thorp and directed by Barry Levinson, with the pair set to executive produce alongside Crystal and Eric Roth. [Source: Deadline]
Bupkis
Peacock has renewed Pete Davidson’s comedy series “Bupkis” for a second season. Edie Falco and Joe Pesci also star whilst Davidson writes the series with showrunner Judah Miller and Dave Sirus.
The semi-autobiographical series stars Davidson as himself as he attempts to work through his family dynamics and the complexities of fame to form relationships. [Source: TV Line]
Weekend Escape Project
Luke Evans and Gwei Lun-mei will co-star in action thriller “Weekend Escape Project” which begins a three month shoot in Taiwan for EuropaCorp in two weeks. George Huang directs while Luc Besson produces.
Evans will reportedly play a U.S. Drug Enforcement officer who is on a duty visit to the city when he meets an old lover (Gwei). Action is said to be on levels akin to “Taken” and “Transporter”. [Source: Variety]
