Release Dates
A couple of key release date announcements have been made, the biggest one being Ben Wheatley’s new horror film “In the Earth” which has been set for an April 30th theatrical only release by NEON.
Next up, Vertical Entertainment has set an April 30th theatrical and May 21st VOD release for Rodrigo GarcĂa’s drama “Four Good Days” led by Glenn Close and Mila Kunis. The story follows a woman who begs her estranged mother for help in saving her from the deadly and merciless grip of heroin addiction.
Classified
“John Wick” helmer Chad Stahelski is attached to direct the action-thriller “Classified” at New Line. Trevor Engelson, Jason Spitz and Alex Young produce.
Andrew Deutschman and Jason Pagan penned the story set inside a top-secret government bunker akin to the one that ends Raiders of the Lost Ark – packed with relics covertly recovered during World War 2 that turn out to be more powerful and dangerous than ever imagined. [Source: Deadline]
Writers and Lovers
Toni Collette will make her feature directorial debut on a film adaptation of Lily King’s 2020 novel “Writers and Lovers” at Topic Studios. Collette will write the screenplay with Nick Payne.
The story follows an underemployed, aspiring writer in 1990s Boston whose world is rocked by a recent love affair and her mother’s sudden death. After she falls for two very different men at the same time, life gets complicated. [Source: Variety]
Mice
Blossom Films and Made Up Stories (“The Undoing”) are teaming on a film adaptation of Gordon Reece’s debut young adult psychological thriller novel “Mice”. Harriet Warner (“Tell Me Your Secrets) will adapt the screenplay.
The story follows a young woman and her mother as they are pushed to their limits, confronting their moral convictions and the line between right and wrong in the face of bullying, violence, and fear. Nicole Kidman will produce. [Source: Deadline]
Godzilla vs. Kong
Thomas Holkenborg (aka. Junkie XL) has released the soundtrack themes for each of the titular titans in “Godzilla vs. Kong” which he’s doing the score for. The tracks come ahead of the film’s debut in cinemas and on HBO Max on March 31st.
