Julee Cruise
Julee Cruise, a singer best known for her 1989 hit “Falling” whose instrumental version became the theme for David Lynch’s iconic series “Twin Peaks,” has died at 65.

No cause of death has been indicated, but she had been battling systemic lupus which left her in chronic pain. Cruise also collaborated with Lynch on his 1986 feature “Blue Velvet”. [Source: Ny Post]

Blade
The filming of Marvel Studios’ “Blade” feature is reportedly set to begin July 4th in Atlanta and New Orleans according to a ProductionList update. Bassam Tariq directs the project.

Mahershala Ali will be playing the titular role of the half-mortal, half-immortal vampire hunter famously played by Wesley Snipes across a trilogy in the late 1990s/early 2000s. [Source: Production List]

Lift
Sam Worthington, Burn Gorman, Jean Reno and Jacob Batalon are set to join Kevin Hart in the F. Gary Gray-directed “Lift” at Netflix. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Billy Magnussen nd Yun Jee Kim also star.

Dan Kunka and Jeremy Doner’s script sees Hart starring as a master thief who is wooed by his ex-girlfriend and the FBI to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew on a 777 flying from London to Zurich. Hart, Brian Smiley, Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan produce. [Source: Deadline]

Reality Winner
“Euphoria” and “White Lotus” star Sydney Sweeney is starring in Tina Satter’s debut feature about whistleblower Reality Winner. Josh Hamilton and Marchant Davis co-star. The project is inspired by Satter’s acclaimed play “Is This A Room”.

Winner was a former American intelligence specialist who was given the longest sentence ever (five years, three months in federal prison) for the unauthorized release of government information to the media. [Source: Deadline]

Prey
Hulu has premiered a new TV spot for the upcoming “Predator” sequel “Prey” showing the battle between the Predator and a group of Comanche Nation hunters including more of the first meeting between Naru (Amber Midthunder) and the creature. Dan Trachtenberg helms the film which hits the streamer on August 5th.
