Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain
Globe-trotting chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain is set to be the subject of the new documentary “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain” which Focus Features has set a July 16th theatrical release ahead of a CNN and HBO Max release later in the year.
Directed by Morgan Neville (“20 Feet From Stardom”), the documentary will explore the life of the late Bourdain who died by suicide in 2018 at the age of 61. The culinary expert rose to national prominence with his 2000 book “Kitchen Confidential” and has hosted several traveling series revolving often around food. [Source: Variety]
Thunder Force
Netflix’s superhero action comedy “Thunder Force,” starring Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer, is on pace to score 52 million global views in its first 28 days according to Kira Goldberg, VP Studio Film at Netflix.
That puts it on parr with various other recent Netflix comedies like “The Wrong Missy” (59 million), “I Care a Lot” (56 million) and “Yes Day”(62 million). [Source: Deadline]
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Elizabeth Olsen went from filming “WandaVision” directly into “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness” for Marvel Studios and says the Sam Raimi-directed film will follow the tone of the director’s work: “It’s a bonkers movie, they’re definitely going for that horror show vibe.” Filming on the ‘Strange’ sequel wraps today.
