Chris O’Dowd is set to star as a good-natured teacher in “The Big Door Prize,” an upcoming ten-episode Apple comedy series based on the M.O. Walsh novel. David West Read executive produces.

Eros International has sold indie studio STX Entertainment to an affiliate of the Najafi Companies for $173 million. STX launched in 2014 as a home for mid-budget film fare with its biggest hits including “Bad Moms” and “Hustlers”. [Source: THR]

Green Knight
A24 is set to re-release David Lowery’s acclaimed Dev Patel-led “The Green Knight” in theaters for one night only this Friday, December 10th.

Two showtimes will be held at AMC theaters across the country that night and to celebrate, the distributor has released a new promo re-framing the dark fantasy drama as a Christmas movie.

Man Booker Prize-winning author: Marlon James has scored a series order from HBO and the UK’s Channel 4 for the six-part Jamaica-set crime drama series “Get Millie Black”
