The Batman Part II
Oscar nominee Colin Farrell has briefly spoken about returning to his role of The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ long-awaited DC sequel “The Batman Part II” and says his role is even more limited than the few minutes of screentime he had in the first film:
“I’ve got an even smaller role in this one. But I’m OK with that…I’ve read the script, from start to finish, and I can’t say much about it. But it’s deeper, scarier, the stakes are bigger. I’m really excited to see it.” Filming begins New Year’s Day in the UK. [Source: THR]
The Lord of the Rings
A new major third-person “The Lord of the Rings” action game, one with around $100 million in funding by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), is reportedly in the works with an official announcement expected soon. The game is reportedly being designed to “compete with Hogwarts Legacy”. [Source: Insider Gaming]
Gore Verbinski
“Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Ring” filmmaker Gore Verbinski, out promoting “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die” at Beyond Fest, says Hollywood’s current climate makes filming anything other than IP difficult: “This is a hard time for original content. Mid-Century Modern
Hulu has canceled its Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer-led comedy series “Mid-Century Modern” after just one season. Co-creator Max Mutchnick wrote on Instagram: “Ten great episodes… Not enough. But we loved making every single one of them. We’re gonna miss our very special show. Ray Gunn
Filmmaker Brad Bird (“The Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles”) has confirmed his high-concept sci-fi detective movie “Ray Gunn,” produced by Skydance Animation, has begun recording dialogue. The story follows a human investigator in a world populated almost exclusively by aliens and has been in the works for a few years. Bird is also penning the third “Incredibles” film. Adam Scherr, who performed in the WWE under the name Braun Strowman, has revealed that he’ll be the next actor to put on the mask of Jason Voorhees in the “Friday the 13th” franchise. He said during a recent interview: “There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency. If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees.” [Source: Collider]
