Banshee
Antonio Banderas, Jaime King and Tommy Flanagan have joined the cast of Jon Keeyes’s action thriller “Banshee”. Matthew Rogers penned the script.

King plays a freelance assassin ambushed by the mercenary (Flanagan) who killed her father and leads an army of hired killers to seek a bounty on her mentor (Banderas) who went underground. [Source: Variety]

Hypnotic
Hala Finley (“Man With A Plan”) will join Robert Rodriguez’s action-thriller “Hypnotic” which will shoot later this month in Austin, Texas. Rodriguez and Max Borenstein are penning the script.

The story will follow a detective (Ben Affleck) who becomes entangled in a mystery involving his missing daughter (Hala Finley) and a secret government program. [Source: Deadline]

Rift
Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will produce the English-language remake of Erlingur Thoroddsen’s Icelandic horror movie “Rift” for Wayward Entertainment. Filming begins this winter.

The atmospheric thriller follows two guys whose broken relationship is tested as they are haunted by a supernatural entity awakened by their emotional turmoil and grief. [Source: Deadline]

Dan Levy
“Schitt’s Creek” star Dan Levy has closed a first-look feature deal and an overall scripted content deal with Netflix where he’ll write and produce projects for them.

An original untitled romantic comedy feature marks the first film of the deal with Levy set to direct, write, produce and star in the project. [Source: THR]

The Suicide Squad
Ahead of the film’s arrival on physical media, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released part of the gag reel from James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad”.

Gunn himself calls this the “very censored” version of the reel, with the one on the disc likely to be much. more profane. The disc release also includes deleted scenes and a feature commentary by Gunn.

Seinfeld
Netflix has released a new official trailer for “Seinfeld,” the streaming giant having picked up the series from Hulu where it has resided for the past five years. All 180 episodes of the classic sitcom will be out on Netflix starting October 1st.
