Alone in the Dark
Developer Pieces Interactive will delay the release of its upcoming David Harbour and Jodie Comer-led reimagining of the classic survival horror game “Alone in the Dark” from October to January 16th 2024.

The move gets the game out of the way of a packed October release schedule with “Spider-Man 2,” “Alan Wake 2,” “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” “Sonic Superstars,” “Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” “Detective Pikachu Returns” and “Forza Motorsport” all set to release. The title will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows. [Source: Twitter]

Candy Cane Lane
Prime Video has announced that its Eddie Murphy-led Christmas movie “Candy Cane Lane” will be released exclusively on the streaming platform on December 1st.

Murphy plays a man who is determined to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest and strikes a deal with an elf (Jillian Bell) to cast a spell bringing to life the 12 Days of Christmas. Chaos ensues for the whole town. [Source: Variety]

The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial
William Friedkin’s final film, “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” a courtroom drama that deals with a naval court-martial case involving a mutiny at sea, has set its release.

The film will have its Showtime network debut on Sunday, October 8th at 9pm US-ET, which will be preceded by its streaming launch on Friday, October 6th on Paramount+ streaming with Showtime. The Paramount+ release also applies to international territories like the UK, Australia, Canada, South Korea and parts of Europe and Latin America. [Source: Slashfilm]

Barbie
Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed back the planned digital release of “Barbie” by a week and has now locked in an September 12th release for digital ownership of the film.

The film will be available to own for $29.99, along with being a 48-hour PVOD rental for $24.99 on participating services including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Google Play, Vudu and more. Barbie’s ‘Premium Digital Ownership’ comes with a number of special features, including multiple featurettes.

A Haunting in Venice
20th Century Studios has released a striking new IMAX poster, and a new Dolby poster, for Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming third Poirot film “A Haunting in Venice”.

The newest Agatha Christie adaptation is based on “Hallowe’en Party” and unfolds in an eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve when a thirteen-year-old girl, who claimed she witnessed a murder when she was younger, is killed. The film will open in cinemas nationwide on September 15th. The posters can be found here and here.
