NBC has unveiled the official trailer for the second season of its “Quantum Leap” revival, which returns on October 4th.
The clip offers a first glimpse of two new regulars for the second season – former “The 100” leading lady Eliza Taylor, and Peter Gadiot who currently can be seen as Shanks in Netflix’s live-action “One Piece”.
Taylor will play Hannah Carson, a complex young woman who may be more than she appears. Gadiot will play Tom Westfall, a thoughtful, humble and almost spiritual former U.S. Special Forces officer who is now overseeing the Quantum Leap project.
The pair join regular returnees Raymond Lee, Caitlin Bassett, Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanrisa Lee. The season premiere will take place in 1978 Russia with guest stars including Francois Arnaud, Melissa Roxburgh and P.J. Byrne.
The network reportedly finished the majority of the thirteen-episode second season of the series prior to the writers’ strike and so ‘most’ of the season will be ready to air with publicity photos indicating at least eight episodes are done and coming.
Work will resume on the remainder of the episodes post-strike with the order to potentially expand, much like the first season which went from 13 to 18 episodes ultimately.
