“Puss in Boots” and “Shrek The Third” director Chris Miller has reportedly been set to helm an untitled “The Smurfs” musical feature for Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation.
“South Park” and “Team America” scribe Pam Brady is writing the project, the first of several films based on the Smurfs property currently in development at Paramount.
The film already has a December 20th 2024 theatrical release date set aside. Paramount Animation currently has several projects on the way including “Paws of Fury” in July, along with new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Paw Patrol” films next year.
