Five more have joined the cast of the second season of Epix’s DC Comics-inspired Batman prequel series “Pennyworth” which hails from Warner Horizon Scripted Television.
Jack Bannon plays Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company in 1960s London and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), future father of Bruce Wayne.
The ten-episode second seasons new series regular include:
– James Purefoy as Captain Gulliver Troy. Alfred’s former SAS Captain – a charismatic, cultured brute and a powerful man of appetites.
– Edward Hogg as Colonel Salt, a calculating killer and would-be despot masquerading as an obedient civil servant.
– Jessye Romeo as Katie Browning, an idealistic and righteous art student whose life is uprooted by civil war.
– Harriet Slater is Sandra Onslow, a budding starlet and Alfred’s on-again-off-again girlfriend with big dreams.
– Ramon Tikaram returns as Inspector Victor Aziz, the charming and sardonic from the first season who gets upgraded from recurring to a series regular.
Meanwhile, Emma Paetz, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson and Polly Walker, Jason Flemyng and Paloma Faith are all expected to return.
Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon executive produce. Production kicks off in the UK in January at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden ahead of a Summer 2020 premiere on Epix.
