Acclaimed “Get Out” and “Us” writer-director Jordan Peele used Twitter today to announced his next directorial effort’s title, release date and first official poster.
Titled “Nope,” the highly-anticipated new film is led by Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya alongside Keke Palmer, Oscar nominee Steven Yeun, and returning to screens for the first time in ages – Michael Wincott. Plot specifics are very much under wraps, though it’s expected to be another psychological horror-thriller laced with social commentary.
The poster, teasing a dark saucer-shaped cloud trailing a kite string and hovering over a city in a mountainous region, confirms that the movie will open exactly a year from today – July 22nd 2022.
It also indicates select sequences of the film were shot with IMAX cameras. As per usual Peele penned the script and produce alongside Ian Cooper via his Monkeypaw Productions label. Universal Pictures will distribute.
