Sony has released the first photos of PlayStation VR2, their next-generation VR headset and the updated and final design for the units Sense controllers.
The headset boasts a slimmer design, slight weight reduction, a lens adjustment dial, a new built-in motor for headset feedback, and a simple adjustable headband to accommodate a variety of head sizes.
The headset, which connects by a single USB-C cable, also incorporates a specially designed vent that allows airflow and avoids lenses fogging up. The unit boasts “4K HDR and state-of-art graphical rendering” and enhanced tracking such as inside-out camera tracking (so no external camera) and internal eye tracking.
Each lens boasts an OLED display with a resolution of 2000×2040 per eye and smooth frame rates of 90/120Hz. It also has a 110-degree field of view, and foveated rendering.
