Sony PlayStation just held its new State of Play and announcements began with “Kena: Scars of Kosmora,” a sequel to 2021’s “Kena: Bridge of Spirits,” which comes out this year.
The biggest announcements came from Santa Monica Studios who confirmed a remake of the original “God of War” trilogy is in development. TC Carson, who voiced Kratos in the original games, is back to voice his role and hammed it up beautifully in the teaser video.
Santa Monica Studios also unveiled “God of War: Sons of Sparta,” a 2D side-scrolling prequel game that is available today.
Also unveiled was the first trailer for the AAA game take on the “John Wick” franchise, simply titled “John Wick” for now.
Krafton unveiled “Project Windless,” a currently in development adaptation of the Korean “The Bird That Drinks Tears” novels which sees you playing a giant chicken warrior.
“Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2” was finally announced by Konami with both “Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots” and “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker” included – marking the first time MGS4 has been available outside of owning a PS3. That title arrives August 27th. Updates to the first volume, with higher resolutions, are rolling out today.
Konami also unveiled the new title “Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse” for the franchise’s 40th anniversary this year, and a first look at the Annapurna-produced “Silent Hill: Townfall”.
A new “Dead or Alive” game is also in development, while the 2D retro action platformer “Legacy of Kain: Ascendance” was also announced.
The “Ghost of Yotei: Legends” co-op is free and arriving on PS5 on March 10th, “Death Stranding 2” is coming to PC on March 19th, “Legacy of Kain: Defiance – Remastered” arrives on March 3rd, “Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition” on February 13th, “Neva: Prologue” on February 19th, and the feature packed “Dead or Alive 6: Last Round” hits June 25th.
New trailers include new looks at gameplay from “Control Resonant,” “Star Wars: Galactic Racer,” “Saros,” “Marathon,” “Pragmata” and “007: First Light,” and a Leon Kennedy-focused trailer for “Resident Evil: Requiem”.
