Jada Pinkett Smith is currently in negotiations to return to “The Matrix” franchise for the fourth entry in the series at Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow.
Smith took on the role of Niobe, a gifted martial artist and captain of the Logos hovercraft, in the second and third film. The character also appeared in the “Enter the Matrix” videogame and “The Matrix Online” multiplayer game.
Should she be locked in she would join fellow returnees Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss along with new to the franchise Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris for the project.
Lana Wachowski will direct and co-write the screenplay with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, while Grant Hill produces.
