Production has officially begun in New York on “Ocean’s 8,” the upcoming female-centric “Ocean’s 11” spin-off led by Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett.
Both actresses were on hand for the shoot with the first photos of them now online. Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina also star in the Gary Ross-directed feature which has Bullock playing Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister.
With help from her right-hand woman (Blanchett), she’ll form a team of thieves to steal a necklace from the Met Ball in order to frame a villainous gallery owner.
Olivia Milch and Ross wrote the screenplay while Steven Soderbergh is producing. The film opens June 2018.
