Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie has posted a new behind-the-scenes photo from “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two” showcasing one of the high-flying stunts for the movie.

The photo features two Boeing-Stearman old-school biplanes flying high in the sky. In the caption, McQuarrie provides a statement thanking the people of South Africa, where filming took place on location in Blyde River Canyon.

In the post, he names various crew and teams for their help and hospitality, including aerial units who helped with the stunts that involved the planes.

He says: “You did the impossible every day and brought us all home safely. You are truly the stuff of legend.” He then goes on to thank the crew who are winding down for the Xmas/New Year break and says:

“We’ll see you all again in the New Year on the other side of the world where a new unknown awaits… Thank you for continuing to make it all possible.”

Cruise made a special PSAs for both theater owners at CinemaCon and to promote the two-part ‘Dead Reckoning’ films earlier this year that saw him doing a stunt involving these planes.

Cruise leads a cast that includes Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, Esai Morales, Rob Delaney, Charles Parnell, Indira Varma, Holt McCallany, Mark Gatiss, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Cary Elwes.

“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” opens in cinemas July 14th 2023 with the second part arriving June 28th 2024.
