Following the first shot of Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans earlier this week, a new photo is out of Johnson alongside Oscar winner J.K. Simmons in the holiday movie that was going by the name “Red One”.
Simmons will be taking on the role of Santa alongside Emmy nominee Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus. The Amazon project is dubbed a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.
Johnson re-teams with his “Jumanji” franchise director Jake Kasdan on the project, which also stars Kiernan Shipka, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Wesley Kimmel and Lucy Liu.
Chris Morgan wrote the script while Johnson, Morgan, Lawrence Kasdan, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, and Melvin Mar produce. Filming is now underway ahead of a Holiday 2023 release via Amazon Prime.
