Filmmaker Zack Snyder has been posting various black-and-white photos from his archives on Instagram lately, and today he’s done one that is kind of historic in its way.
Snyder confirms the new, never-before-seen photo shows Ben Affleck suited up as Batman for the very first time – specifically for the costume test for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
He added that when the cowl went on, the look was “everything I hoped it would be”.
The recent run of photos have seen the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse faithful hopeful the filmmaker will step behind the camera for another DC Comics-based film at some point.
The chance seems highly unlikely, despite James Gunn and Zack Snyder having been in contact since the DCEU gave way to the new DCU. Gunn had previously said Snyder had been “incredibly supportive throughout this process.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year.
