Rapper/actor Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson is certainly very committed to his role in the upcoming live-action “Street Fighter” film currently in production in Australia.
Jackson has posted a video of himself training for his role as Balrog, a disgraced boxer from the games whose design was inspired by real-life boxer Mike Tyson. The character is noted for his often blue outfit and, in particular, a very distinct hairstyle.
In the video, Jackson is shown sporting that hairstyle. Jackson captions the video:
“I don’t expect you to understand my level of discipline but watch it, it’s entertaining. Street Fighter Coming soon, then Street Fighter ll BALROG! All Roads Lead to Shreveport”
The Shreveport reference is to this G-Unit Studios which opened there last year with the Stageworks facility to become a “sports and entertainment venue”.
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!
Joining them are Cody Rhodes as Guile, Orville Peck as Vega, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, and Eric Andre as Don Sauvage, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, Kyle Mooney as Marvin and Rayna Vallandingham as Juli.
“Street Fighter” releases in cinemas on October 16th 2026.
