Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”) is set to star in the Macon Blair-directed contemporary reimagining of Troma’s iconic low-budget comedy “The Toxic Avenger” at Legendary Entertainment.
When a struggling everyman is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.
Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz will serve as producers on the new take. The original became a popular midnight movie and went on to three sequels, a stage musical, a cartoon series and a Marvel comic.
