Pete Candeland is attached to direct while Shawn Christensen (“Abduction”) will script the comic adaptation “Stuff Of Legend” for Disney Pictures says Deadline.
The story follows a young boy in 1944 who is abducted by the Boogeyman into the closet realm known as The Dark. The boy’s puppy rallies his toys to follow his master on a rescue mission.
Transformed into large and agile creatures, the toys engage in a war with the Boogeyman’s forces. The film will be live-action but set in a CG world ala Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”.
Candeland created and directed the music videos for The Gorillaz and recently made a deal to adapt Disney theme-park ride “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” into a live-action feature.
