Emmy-nominated writer, comedian and actor Dewayne Perkins has been set to write and executive produce the FOX animated series “Clue” based on Hasbro’s iconic mystery board game (better known as “Cluedo” outside the United States).
Tim Story and Lynn Barrie will executive produce, while Bento Box Entertainment will serve as the animation studio on the project which is being produced by Hasbro’s eOne.
No details about the premise of the animated series have been revealed, but the project is entirely separate from the upcoming Ryan Reynolds-led live-action feature film adaptation at 20th Century Studios. James Bobin is directing that project.
This wouldn’t be the first time “Clue” has been adapted for television, the most notable variations being Australian and European game show adaptations of the property back in the early 1990s.
