“John Wick” and “Bosch” actor Lance Reddick has been cast as Zeus whilst “Black Sails” and “Lost in Space” alum Toby Stephens is Poseidon in the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on the Disney+ service.

Based on author Rick Riordan’s popular young adult novels about Greek mythology, Walker Scobell (“The Adam Project”) stars as twelve-year-old Percy Jackson, who discovers that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon and begins training to become a hero at Camp Half-Blood – a special training camp for demigods.

The pair join various other Greek myth figures in the series, including wrestler Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland, who was recently cast as Ares along with the previously cast Jay Duplass as Hades, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Medusa and Suzanne Cryer as Echidna.

Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri play Percy’s best friends, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn and Charlie Bushnell co-star.

Filming on the series began in Vancouver in June and is set to conclude shortly. The series will reportedly stick closely to the novels, unlike the previous film adaptations. Riordan co-wrote the pilot with Jon Steinberg, while James Bobin directs.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will premiere on the Disney+ service in 2024. Check out a photo of Zeus, Percy and Poseidon below.
