“Penguin” Series, “Joker” Sequel Set Starts

Farrell Talks The Penguin Series Plans
Warner Bros. Pictures

Two high-profile projects at Warner Bros. Discovery are gearing up to start filming.

First up, Production List reports that Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie a Deux” is on track to start filming on November 5th. Joaquin Phoenix & Lady Gaga star in the musical follow-up set mostly within Arkham Asylum.

Brendan Gleeson co-stars in the film and both he and his “Banshees of Inisherin” co-star Colin Farrell spoke with extraTV recently about their respective works in the Batman world.

Farrell talked about HBO Max’s “The Penguin” series, confirming that narratively the series begins about a week after the end of “The Batman” with Gotham City still partly submerged.

He adds his first scene is his character’s feet splashing as he walks through Carmine Falcone’s office. Shooting on that series is expected to begin in early February next year.
