Peacock has unveiled the teaser trailer and announced an April 9th premiere date for its newest ten-episode dramedy series “The Miniature Wife”.
Golden Globe winner Matthew Macfadyen and Emmy nominee Elizabeth Banks lead the series which also stars O-T Fagbenle, Zoe Lister-Jones, Sian Clifford, Sofia Rosinsky, Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu, and Tricia Black.
Based on the short story by Manuel Gonzales, the dramedy examines the power (im)balances between spouses Lindy (Banks) and Les (Macfadyen) after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.
Namely, she gets shrunk down to a rather small size and the husband must work to try and restore her while also helping her at home.
The dramedy is created and executive-produced by showrunners Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner. Banks, MacFadyen, Michael Aguilar, Suzanne Heathcote, Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, and director Greg Mottola executive produce.
Macfadyen was most recently in Netflix’s “Death by Lightning” and will soon be seen as George Smiley in the TV adaptation of John le Carré’s “A Legacy of Spies”. Banks was most recently in Amazon’s “The Better Sister” series and the upcoming psychothriller “DreamQuil”.
