Peacock has set a July 15th premiere date for all eight episodes of its limited series “Dr. Death” based on Wondery’s podcast.
Joshua Jackson (“Fringe,” “The Affair”) stars as former Texan neurosurgeon Christopher Duntsch who was accused of injuring or maiming 33 patients in two years and later sentenced to life imprisonment.
Along with exploring the why behind his actions, the series intends to follow the cracks in the healthcare system that allowed him to continue working.
Ultimately two surgeons (Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater) and a Dallas prosecutor (AnnaSophia Robb) fought to bring Duntsch to justice.
The series is executive produced by Patrick Macmanus, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Taylor Latham, Hernan Lopez and Marshall Lewy. Maggie Kiley, Jennifer Morrison and So Yong Kim direct.
