Peacock’s “Bel-Air” Swaps Showrunners… Again

Peacock

Peacock’s “Bel-Air,” a dramatic reimagining of the iconic sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” began filming its second season last month.

However, production is already on hiatus as showrunners TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson have exited the series due to creative differences.

Carla Banks Waddles has been promoted to showrunner and will also serve as an executive producer for the new season.

The project has been plagued by turnover at the showrunner level almost since its inception with Waddles marking the fourth showrunner appointeed to the project.

Waddles follows Chris Collins who exited in development, Diane Houson who left during the first season, and both Brandy and Newson who’re now out.

The series received mixed reviews, but remains the most-viewed show in Peacock history, with over eight million people reportedly streaming the first three episodes earlier this year.

The show received a two-season order when Peacock initially picked it up.
