Adam Devine will reprise his role as Bumper for a straight-to-series spin-off of the “Pitch Perfect” comedy film franchise.
Elizabeth Banks, who co-starred and directed the second one, will executive produce the series which will pick up several years after the third film. No episode count has yet been determined.
In the series Bumper moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin. Max Handelman, Paul Brooks, Scott Neimeyer, Devine and Megan Amram executive produce with the latter serving as writer and showrunner.
The project joins a number of Universal films to recently score TV incarnations including “Field of Dreams” and “Ted”.
