Peacock In Talks For “New York Undercover” Reboot

Peacock is in negotiations for a new incarnation of Dick Wolf’s famed 1994 cop drama “New York Undercover,” with the project expected to receive a series commitment.

The new take is described as re-examination of the four season long FOX original, reflecting the current times. It is picking up twenty years after the end of that show which was the first police drama on U.S. television to feature two people of color in the lead roles.

It is unclear yet whether it will feature characters from the original series. Former “The Chi” showrunner Ayanna Floyd Davis is spearheading the project which Universal Television will produce. Floyd will serve as showrunner and executive produces with Wolf, Peter Jankowski and Arthur Forney.
