Peacock Adds A Bunch Of Paramount Movies

We know that ViacomCBS is planning to relaunch CBS All Access next year with a bunch of content from Paramount Pictures and Paramount Television.

So it comes as a little surprising that NBCUniversal’s new streaming service Peacock has struck an agreement with ViacomCBS to non-exclusively license Paramount movies and TV shows.

Peacock gets rights for films from Paramount’s library in limited exclusivity windows throughout 2021-2023 including “The Godfather” trilogy, “Catch Me If You Can,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “American Beauty,” “Patriot Games,” “Last Holiday,” “Fatal Attraction,” “The Firm,” and “An Officer and a Gentleman.”

The deal also includes Showtime series “Ray Donovan” and “The Affair” along with other Paramount shows like “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Undercover Boss”. Those will be available to stream on Peacock with the launch of the service on July 15th, while “Charmed” will join them in October.

Peacock also reportedly has licensing deals with A+E Networks, Warner Bros., and Sony so isn’t sticking to just Universal for its content.

The Peacock Free ad-supported tier will have more than 7,500 hours of movies, shows, and programming across news, sports, reality and late night. Peacock Premium offers more than 15,000 hours of content including Peacock’s originals like “Brave New World” and “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home”.
