Just as Chris Nolan is synonymous with blockbusters that could be marketed on the director’s name alone, so to director Paul Thomas Anderson is known for auteur-driven adult fare so consistently good that his films could do the same.

A year after the accomplished helmer’s “Licorice Pizza” was released, new details have emerged in regards to what the “Phantom Thread,” “Boogie Nights” and “Inherent Vice” helmer Anderson is up to next.

A listing on the casting site Actors Access (found via Collider) calls for an upcoming project referred to simply as “Untitled CK/PTA Studio Feature Film” with the CK referring to Anderson’s go-to casting director Cassandra Kulukundis.

The pair are reportedly looking for a 15-to-16-year-old female of mixed ethnicity who should be “physically athletic and excels at Martial Arts.” In addition, the production aims to begin in the Summer of 2023 in Los Angeles.

Previously Anderson reportedly teased he was considering an L.A.-set 1940s jazz film exploring the city’s ‘Little Harlem’ and South Central’s Hotel Dunbar – a place that became a creative hub for the African-American community’s arts and music scene at the time.
