Park Chan-wook’s “JSA” Sets Re-Release

Arrow Video has announced a home video re-release of celebrated South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook’s “Joint Security Area”.

The story begins after a shooting incident in the Korean demilitarized zone leaves two North Korean soldiers dead. With the warring nations on a knife-edge, a neutral Swiss and Swedish team investigates what actually happened in the darkness out in no man’s land.

The project, released in 2000, was one of Park’s earliest works and was followed by his more well-known titles like “Oldboy,” “Sympathy for Mr Vengeance,” The Handmaiden,” “Thirst” and “Stoker”.

The film, which stars Lee Byung-Hun (“G.I. Joe: Retaliation”), Song Kang-Ho (“Parasite”), Lee Yeong-ae (“Lady Vengeance”), has not been available on Blu-Ray or DVD in years. The plan is now for this Blu-ray & DVD release in North America and the UK in January with a trailer released below.

Park Chan-wook is currently shooting his next feature “Decision To Leave”.
