Celebrated filmmaker Park Chan-wook (“Oldboy,” “The Handmaiden”) will begin production later this month on his new Korean-language drama feature “Decision to Leave” at Moho Film and CJ Entertainment.
Tang Wei (“Lust, Caution,” “Blackhat”) and Park Hye-il (“The Host,” “Memories of Murder”) will lead the cast of the project which has a script co-written by Park and Jeong Seo-kyeong. Lee Jung-hyun, Go Kyung-pyo and Park Yong-woo also star.
The story involves a diligent and serious detective (Park Hye-il) who is investigating a possible murder case in the mountainous countryside. He begins to suspect the man’s widow (Tang), whom he also develops romantic feelings for.
Park’s last work was AMC’s John Le Carre mini-series adaptation “Little Drummer Girl”.
