Two horror franchises are set to get video games soon.

First up, DreadXP and Paramount have released the first gameplay teaser for its “Paranormal Activity: Threshold” game which is being made by DarkStone Digital, the developers of the 2022 game “The Mortuary Assistant” (which is becoming a Shudder film in 2026).

The game follows Daniel and Jessica Stewart, who have decided to remodel their first home. Old and dilapidated, they begin to record the adventures of their renovation, but the couple soon discovers their new home hides much more than asbestos and faulty wiring.

As they dig deeper into the mysterious house, their excitement turns to concern when they uncover strange markings and items hidden within the walls. The more time they spend there, the clearer it becomes that they are not the home’s only occupant. Sinking deeper into the influences of a dark presence, Daniel and Jessica are unprepared for the horrifying events that follow

Meanwhile, a “Terrifier” video game is on the way, and sooner than you think. “Terrifier: The ARTcade Game” will officially release on November 21st for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Developer Relevo is behind the game, which allows people to use a variety of weapons, teaming up with four players in local co-op mode, and using things like ‘over-the-top’ gory finishing moves. It uses bright and cartoonish retro pixel art and fluid animations. Six different game modes are available.
