Paramount Pictures has won a bidding war for the rights to Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling YA novel trilogy that began with “Children of Blood and Bone”.
Adeyemi will adapt, pen the script and also executive produce a big-screen theatrical release which is being fast-tracked by the studio. Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Marty Bowen are producing.
The books, the third of which will be published in 2023, follows heroine Zelie Adebola as she attempts to restore magic to the kingdom of Orïsha due to the ruling class’ brutal suppression of the class of magic practitioners (maji) she belongs to.
