Paramount TV Series Get Divvied Up

Paramount

In the wake of the merger with Skydance, Paramount now has two major TV units – the existing CBS Studios and the newly formed Paramount TV Studios.

Now, the companies have revealed how they have divvied up the majority of existing series and projects in development, and determined which studio will get what.

CBS Studios’ primary focus will be supplying the CBS broadcast network while still being able to do streaming series for Paramount+ and outside streamers when an opportunity presents itself – such as “NCIS: Tony & Ziva”.

Shows CBS Studios will retain include the likes of “Matlock,” “Ghosts,” “Watson and “Fire Country,” along with the upcoming “King & Conqueror” and streaming shows like the various “Star Trek” series, “Murderbot,” and the new “Little House On the Prairie”.

Paramount TV Studios, which combines assets like Skydance Television and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, will be focused predominantly on streaming series for Paramount+ but also for outside platforms.

Going forward, Paramount TV Studios will be the home of “Reacher” for its fourth season and the already shot spin-off “Neagley,” “Cross” for its second season, and the likes of “Foundation,” “Dexter: Resurrection,” “Emily in Paris” and the assorted Taylor Sheridan universe shows.

Series in development based on Paramount and Miramax film titles will all be at Paramount TV Studios with the exception of a few currently in active development – namely “Clueless,” “Galaxy Quest” and “Flashdance” – which are at CBS Studios. On the flipside, Paramount TV Studios will produce the odd broadcast show with one – “Y: Marshals” – on the way.
