Paramount Pictures is set to remake the acclaimed 2019 South Korean crime thriller “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil”.
The original film centered on fierce and feared gang boss Jang Dong-su (Train to Busan and Eternals actor Don Lee), who barely survives a violent attack by an elusive serial killer simply known as ‘K’.
With his reputation damaged, the only way for Jang to restore his image is to find the attacker and exact revenge – forming an unlikely partnership with a local detective to do so.
Lee will reprise his role for the film which Sylvester Stallone, Chris S. Lee, Billy Acumen and Braden Aftergood will produce. The project is in the early stages of development.
The original boasted a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes but hasn’t been seen much outside of Korea.
