Paramount+ has announced today that it has bought Brian Helgeland’s fishing drama “Finestkind” starring Tommy Lee Jones and Ben Foster with plans to debut it exclusively on Paramount+ sometime later this year.

Marking “L.A. Confidential” scribe and “42” director Helgeland’s first directing effort since 2015’s dual Tom Hardy Kray brothers film “Legend,” the story is set in New Bedford, Massachusettes and follows two estranged brothers forced to reunite one summer and close a deal with a crime syndicate during desperate times.

Foster and Toby Wallace play the brothers whilst Jones is the father. Jenna Ortega also stars in the film as a young woman caught in the middle of the deal.

“Finestkind” will be available on Paramount+ in Australia, Canada and Latin America, as well as in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and South Korea when the service launches in those markets later this year.
