Paramount/Showtime Sets “Heist 88” Release

Paramount+ and Showtime have announced launch dates for “Heist 88,” a new crime drama feature set to debut exclusively on Paramount+ with Showtime on September 29th before making its linear debut on Showtime on October 1st.

Inspired by one of the largest bank robberies in U.S. history, the story is set in a time before widespread computerization and the cybersecurity protections of today.

The story centers on Jeremy Horne (two-time Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance), a criminal mastermind with an innate ability to essentially convince anyone to do anything.

After deciding to pull one last job before going to prison, Horne recruits four young bank employees to steal close to $80 million dollars in a brazen assault on the nation’s banking system.

MTV Entertainment Studios, Bassett Vance Productions and Gunpowder & Sky are backing the project. Also starring are Keesha Sharp, Bentley Green, Keith David, Xavier Clyde, Nican Robinson and Precious Way.

Menhaj Huda (“Kidulthood”) directs from a script by Dwayne Johnson-Cochran. Most recently, Vance was to film scenes for the “Lilo @ Stitch” live-action sequel.
