Paramount+

As part of its three-hour investor presentation today, the newly named Paramount company offered updates on multiple TV series and ambitious spin-off plans.

First up, the Paramount+ live-action “Halo” TV series has already been renewed for a second season well before the series premiere next month.

That’s not the only early renewal handed out either as Paramount-owned Showtime has also renewed its long-running “Billions” for a seventh season, and its anthology series “Super Pumped” for a second season which will this time focus on Facebook (the first season focuses on Uber).

Next, a live-action “Sonic the Hedgehog” series is being actively developed for Paramount+ with plans to premiere in 2023. The project will be a spin-off of the films and will feature the Idris Elba-voiced Knuckles who first appears in the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” film.

A new “Transformers” animated series is set to premiere on Nickelodeon this fall. First announced a year ago, 26 episodes have been ordered with the story to focus on a new species of Transformers.

These all join the various Taylor Sheridan series along with already announced shows like “Fatal Attraction,” “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies,” “Rabbit Hole” and “The Offer” as well as international imports like “A Gentleman in Moscow,” “Sexy Beast” and “Yonder”.
