Paramount Scraps “Sexy Beast” Prequel Series

Paramount Network has scrapped plans for a prequel series to Jonathan Glazer’s Oscar-nominated British black comedy crime caper film “Sexy Beast”. The project had received a straight-to-series for ten episodes last summer.

No official reason has been given for the chop, but with the project still finishing scripts and not having begun production as of yet it was seen as an easier cost-cutting move in the wake of the Viacom-CBS merger.

The series tells the early days of Gal Dove, Don Logan, and Teddy Bass, the characters played in the movie by Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley, and Ian McShane, respectively in the 2000 film.
