Paramount has announced, as part of its quarterly earnings report, that its Paramount+ service has reached over 43 million subscribers globally as of the end of June.

The newest quarter saw the addition of 4.9 million subscribers, but that was partly offset by the removal of 1.2 million subscribers in Russia due to the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Revenue for the quarter saw a 19% gain to $7.78 billion thanks to strong growth in the film unit – helped hugely by the releases of films such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and engagement with shows such as “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” “Halo” and “1883”.

The subscriber growth was partially driven by successful international market launches in the U.K., Ireland and South Korea. Paramount+ is also coming to The Roku Channel as a premium option later this month.
