A sequel is in the works at Paramount to this year’s critically derided, action-centric, revisionist fairy tale feature “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters”.
The Tommy Wirkola-helmed film, shot for just $50 million, disappointed domestically with only $54 million. In overseas markets however, it has raked in nearly three times that with $151.2 million – bringing the current global total to $206 million.
It’s unknown if actors Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton will return as their bounty hunter characters for the follow-up. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick will return as producers.
